Two Nights Only: Seoul’s Legendary Gold Pig BBQ Joins Forces with Michelin-Starred Cote in Singapore

For just two nights this June, Singapore will host a culinary showdown featuring two of the most revered names in Korean barbecue—Gold Pig from Seoul and Cote Korean Steakhouse—offering a rare taste of premium Jeju pork and top-tier Hanwoo beef without the need for a flight ticket.

On June 29 and 30, the Michelin Bib Gourmand darling Gold Pig—a household name among Seoul’s barbecue obsessives—will team up with Cote Korean Steakhouse, the world’s first Korean steakhouse to earn a Michelin star. The collaboration takes place at Cote’s Singapore outpost, located inside the COMO Orchard complex at 30 Bideford Road, Level 3. This marks a fleeting opportunity for food lovers to sample one of South Korea’s most sought-after barbecue experiences, typically requiring hours-long queues that snake around city blocks back in Seoul.

What’s on the menu

The centerpiece of the collaboration is Handon pork, a prized breed raised on Jeju Island that has made Gold Pig a legend among Korean barbecue connoisseurs. Known for its meticulous approach to grilling, the restaurant pays exacting attention to every detail—from the precise thickness of each cut to its signature tableside cooking techniques that maximize both flavour and texture. The result is a pork experience that balances rich marbling with a clean, buttery finish.

Alongside it, diners will also enjoy Cote’s showstopper Hanwoo ribeye, the highest possible grade of Korean beef. Famed for its exquisite marbling and tenderness, Hanwoo offers a melt-in-the-mouth bite that pairs perfectly with the restaurant’s elaborate wine program.

A groundbreaking concept

Cote was founded by restaurateur Simon Kim, who reimagined Korean barbecue by blending the interactive, hands-on fun of grilling at your table with the polished service and sophistication of a contemporary American steakhouse. The concept made history when its New York and Miami outposts earned Michelin stars—the first for any Korean steakhouse. Its Singapore location, opened in 2023, was the brand’s first international expansion outside the United States.

Pricing and reservations

The collaboration dinner starts at $258 per person, with a wine pairing option available from $418. A curated selection of wines has been designed to complement each cut, enhancing the natural flavours of the beef and pork. Reservations are now open via SevenRooms.

Why this matters

For Singapore’s ever-growing community of Korean barbecue lovers, this two-night-only event offers a rare chance to taste two of Asia’s most acclaimed proteins without crossing the border. It also highlights a broader trend: premium Korean dining is moving beyond the traditional barbecue house and into the fine-dining arena, where technique, sourcing, and presentation are elevated to Michelin-worthy levels.

If you’re a fan of Gold Pig or simply curious about what makes Hanwoo beef and Handon pork so revered, this is a fleeting window to experience the hype firsthand—and to taste why both restaurants have earned their legendary status.
