Chagee Opens First Heartland Family Store in Pasir Ris With Indoor Playground

The eastern Singapore neighbourhood of Pasir Ris has been quietly undergoing a transformation, with a new integrated transport hub, a refreshed town centre, and a growing list of reasons for locals to linger. Now, tea lovers—especially those with young children—have another destination to add to their weekend rotation. Chagee has opened its first community-focused outlet outside the city centre at Pasir Ris Mall, complete with a dedicated indoor playground designed to let parents sip while little ones play.

The store builds on the brand’s family-friendly concept first introduced at Suntec City earlier this year. But this Pasir Ris location marks a deliberate shift into the heartlands, offering a space where families can settle in without feeling rushed. Children under 12 receive complimentary milk with every order, and the majority of Chagee’s menu carries a Nutri-Grade A or B rating, meaning the tea break doesn’t have to double as a sugar rush. A Singapore-exclusive pony plushie charm is also available for $16.90.

A Play Space Designed for Little Ones

The indoor playground goes well beyond a basic play pen. Young climbers can tackle a mini climbing wall before zipping down a slide, with padded flooring cushioning inevitable tumbles. An interactive game wall, a rocking Chagee pony mascot, and a selection of books cater to quieter moments. There’s even a pretend tea-making station stocked with aprons, toy dispensers, teapots, and cups—letting children mimic the very ritual their parents are enjoying. Suspended puffy clouds overhead add a whimsical, storybook atmosphere.

A Nod to Pasir Ris’ History

The store also makes a point of feeling distinctly local. A six-metre hand-painted mural titled Memories of Pasir Ris, created by artist Rebecca Liu Xibei, runs along one wall. It traces the area’s history from its mangrove swamps to nostalgic landmarks such as the Mosaic Elephant Playground—a subtle tribute to the estate’s past that regulars will likely recognise.

Brewing a New Partnership

Behind the scenes, Chagee has partnered with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) on what it calls Singapore’s first tea beverage qualification developed jointly by an Institute of Higher Learning and an industry partner. The programme runs on two tracks: Year 1 Higher Nitec in Hospitality Operations students will take a tea beverage micro-learning course as part of their existing Barista Service module; meanwhile, Chagee baristas will complete a specially curated course alongside hands-on training at the brand’s training centre. Those who finish the full programme receive an ITE Certificate of Achievement.

Whether you’re after a quiet tea break, a play session for the kids, or a dose of neighbourhood nostalgia, Chagee Pasir Ris makes a strong argument for becoming the family’s new local pit stop. And with the ITE partnership laying groundwork for a more formalised tea-beverage curriculum, the store’s impact may extend well beyond its indoor playground.
