Operating on an ad hoc basis, Softerfields is not a fixed venue or a single-purpose event series. Instead, it’s a flexible gathering space that indulges in culture as a whole. One session might focus on a legendary artist’s discography; another might turn into a casual listening party where strangers swap recommendations over food.
“Whether you’re here to discover new sounds outside the internet, learn the stories behind the records, or simply experience a different side of Singapore’s cultural landscape, Softerfields welcomes it all,” JJ says.
So far, most Softerfields events have been vinyl listening sessions, held everywhere from cozy apartments to intimate community spaces. What’s Next: Korean Psychedelia and Supper
The next Softerfields session is scheduled for July 24, 2026, at vintage furniture store Objects Re. This edition, titled “Vinyl and Supper Club,” centers on South Korean musician Kim Jung Mi and her album Now. Expect a deep exploration of 1970s Korean psychedelia, along with the themes of censorship, control, and freedom that shaped the record. After the listening portion, guests can continue the conversation over Korean tea and small plates.
