Beloved Seoul Tonkatsu Sensation Ojeje to Open First Overseas Outpost in Singapore This October

The Jeju-born tonkatsu and udon specialist that routinely drew 60 to 80 waiting parties a day near Seoul Station is finally crossing borders. Ojeje, the critically acclaimed restaurant founded by chef-owner Kim Ji-hoon in 2020, will debut its first international location at Raffles City Shopping Centre in October 2026. The expansion marks a major step for the brand, which has grown from a single outlet to six directly operated locations across Seoul in just six years.

What’s on the Menu

Ojeje’s Singapore menu will feature the signature dishes that built its loyal following. The wet-aged pork tonkatsu remains the star: chef Kim uses Jeju pork that undergoes a wet-aging process before frying, with each cut individually assessed for quality. Diners can choose between sirloin and tenderloin, then dip the crispy cutlet into tsuyu, truffle salt, or wasabi.

Equally meticulous is the udon program. Ojeje operates dedicated noodle-making rooms where chefs carefully control the dough’s hydration, resting time, thickness, and cooking duration. The result is a firm, chewy noodle best enjoyed in the Premium Matcha Zaru Udon—served cold with an earthy matcha infusion and a savory tsuyu dipping sauce made from dashi, soy sauce, and mirin.

For those who prefer seafood, the Kadaif Prawn substitutes the pork cutlet with large prawns encased in a delicate, crunchy kadaif shell, served with the same selection of dips and accompaniments.

A Slice of Jeju in Raffles City

The interior of Ojeje’s Singapore space will reflect its Jeju roots, blending contemporary Korean art with vintage furniture and custom tableware inspired by the island’s volcanic landscapes. The design aims to recreate the warm, grounded atmosphere of the original Seoul restaurant, which quickly became a destination for locals and tourists alike.

Practical Details

Ojeje will open at Raffles City Shopping Centre, #B1-12, 252 North Bridge Road. Exact opening hours and price points have not yet been announced, though the brand has launched an Instagram account (@ojeje.sg) to share updates and behind-the-scenes content as the opening approaches.

Broader Context

Ojeje’s international debut arrives amid a surge of high-quality Korean dining concepts expanding into Singapore. The city-state’s appetite for premium tonkatsu and handmade noodles has grown steadily, with several Japanese and Korean specialist shops opening in recent years. If Ojeje replicates even a fraction of the buzz it generated in Seoul, the Raffles City location could quickly join the ranks of must-try destinations for carb and cutlet lovers.

For now, Singapore foodies can mark their calendars for October 2026—and start practicing their patience for what is likely to be a very long queue.
