Singapore is gearing up for its annual Formula 1 invasion this October, and Suntec City is throwing its hat into the ring with a brilliantly creative collaboration. From October 1st to 18th, the shopping destination is transforming its Atrium into Experience the Thrill, an interactive, race-inspired playground featuring a life-sized brick-built race car, skill-testing challenges, and exclusive rewards. Whether you live for the chequered flag, love the art of LEGO, or are simply looking for a memorable family day out, this activation has something for the whole grid.
The Main Attraction: A 400,000-Brick F1 Car
The undisputed star of the activation is a full-scale replica of the Visa Cash App RB VCARB 01 race car, meticulously assembled from over 400,000 LEGO elements. This impressive build has already made trackside appearances at the Miami Grand Prix Drivers’ Parade. Now, it forms the ultimate photo opportunity in the heart of Suntec City, giving fans a chance to stand right alongside world-class racing engineering.
Racing Art and Community Constructions
Beyond the main showstopper, racing art takes center stage with a massive 3-by-2-meter LEGO mosaic wall. Depicting the McLaren MCL38, Alpine A524, and Audi R26 race cars, this vivid installation is a collaboration between the mall and the Adult LEGO Fans (ALF) community. ALFs will lay the groundwork before members of the public are invited to add their own LEGO bricks through guided sessions. Smaller installations are also set up at the entrance near Esplanade MRT and the walkway outside BYD by 1826.
Interactive Challenges and Race Pass Rewards
Visitors can pick up a dedicated LEGO F1 Race Pass and take on four immersive zones that build on the skills of a professional driver:
- The Gear-Up Zone: A 30-second race against the clock to study and assemble an F1-inspired steering wheel.
- The Sprint Zone: A test of reflexes requiring participants to follow a sequence of red lights.
- The Speed Zone: Steering around a custom F1-themed track.
- The Victory Zone: A social media-ready digital photo opportunity with a LEGO F1 Racer Minifigure.
Complete three out of four challenges to earn enough e-stamps to unlock a reward. Children aged 4 to 12 will receive a LEGO Steering Wheel, while participants 13 and up can get a LEGO voucher. The top three performers on the leaderboard also stand a chance to win LEGO F1 sets for their collection.
Beyond the Track: Retail, Dining, and F1 Perks
Not ready to leave the grid? The LEGO Certified Store (Bricks World) has set up a retail pop-up right alongside the activation, open daily from 10.30am to 9.30pm, offering an extensive range of race-themed sets and exclusive merchandise.
The fun extends throughout the mall. Suntec City is rolling out generous Suntec+ Rewards for shoppers:
