Singapore’s Hottest New Summer Cocktail Event Is Here—And It’s Crystal Clear

A four-bar takeover this July showcases Chivas Regal Crystalgold, a groundbreaking clear Scotch whisky, with exclusive drinks designed for Singapore’s tropical nights.

If there’s one thing that binds Singapore’s social scene, it’s the ritual of a well-crafted drink. Whether you’re sipping a spritz to beat the humidity, watching the sunset from a rooftop bar, or kicking off a late night with friends, cocktails are woven into the city’s fabric. This July, the Chivas Regal Crystalgold Summer White Spirits Takeover offers a fresh reason to explore four of Singapore’s top drinking destinations, each serving original cocktails built around a spirit that’s turning heads in the whisky world.

A Whisky That Defies Convention

Chivas Regal Crystalgold launched in 2025 and was immediately recognised by The Spirits Business as the ‘Most Innovative Spirits Launch of the Year’. What makes it different? The whisky undergoes a pioneering filtration process that strips the colour from a traditional oak-aged blended Scotch, leaving behind a crystal-clear liquid while preserving the smoothness and complexity that Chivas is known for.

“While it retains the fruit-forward profile, it complements the cocktail’s citrus and orange notes,” explains Russell Chia, bartender at Last Word. “It also preserves the old-age complexity while working in lighter, early-evening cocktails. And by barrel-aging it, you introduce additional layers and oxidation into the cocktail itself.”

Bannie Kang, co-founder of Side Door and a judge at Pernod Ricard’s SIP Supernova Singapore 2026 competition, sums up the drinking experience simply: “A smooth and very clean finish.”

That versatility makes Crystalgold a natural fit for everything from refreshing highballs and spritzes to more spirit-forward concoctions.

Four Bars, Four Distinct Takes

The takeover runs across four venues, each putting its own spin on the new spirit.

  • Bae’s Cocktail Club goes bright and punchy with a Margarita-inspired serve: Chivas Regal Crystalgold meets yuzu and a Tajín rim for a citrus kick.
  • Last Word offers a richer experience with a Barrel Aged Corpse Reviver No. 1, blending the whisky with cognac, Calvados and rosso vermouth.
  • Milli leans into lightness with its Whisky Green Tea—sencha distillate, clarified yuzu and a silky matcha foam top things off.
  • Side Door keeps it elegant with the Golden Ratio highball, pairing the spirit’s smoothness with caviar for an unexpectedly refined finish.

Each cocktail is designed to show off Crystalgold’s adaptability, from the tropical to the sophisticated.

More Than Just a Drink

The event isn’t only about cocktails. The lineup includes cultural and community-led programming across the venues, making each stop a destination rather than just a bar. Whether you’re a whisky enthusiast, a cocktail hunter, or simply looking for a new spot to unwind after work, the takeover offers a curated reason to visit.

As with any alcohol campaign, the organisers emphasise responsibility: enjoy Chivas Regal responsibly and never drink and drive.

The Summer White Spirits Takeover runs through July. It’s a reminder that innovation—and a great drink—can still surprise you, even in a city that already knows its cocktails.
