Therme Singapore, a sprawling seven-level wellness destination spanning more than 720,000 square feet, is slated to open in 2030 at Marina South—marking the region’s first large-scale integrated wellbeing complex. The development will combine water-based recreation, thermal therapy, dining, and lush landscaped environments under one roof, aiming to redefine urban self-care in the heart of the city.
Singapore’s Marina Bay area is about to get a major new anchor for health and leisure. Therme Singapore—developed by Therme Group in partnership with Kajima Overseas Asia and DP Architects—will occupy roughly the size of nine football fields across seven levels (including a basement). The project is being positioned as Asia’s first comprehensive, multi-zone wellbeing destination, blending high-energy water play with quiet recovery spaces and social dining.
A Vertical Oasis of Wellness
Rather than spreading horizontally, the facility stacks experiences vertically. Three distinct zones—Play, Relax, and Restore—allow visitors to move between energy and calm within a single visit.
- Play lives up to its name: children’s pools, interactive water features, and 18 slides stretching a combined 1.8 kilometres.
- Relax shifts the mood with thermal pools, mineral baths, hydromassage beds, infrared therapy, and quieter water areas.
- Restore goes deeper into recovery: saunas, steam rooms, and treatment spaces designed for longer, slower sessions.
Food and social spaces are woven throughout. More than 86,000 square feet have been set aside for dining and gathering, all oriented to open toward sea views. No restaurant or bar names have been announced yet; organizers say to stay tuned.
Beyond the Building: 200,000 Plants and a Coastal Park
The experience extends outdoors. A landscape planted with over 200,000 individual plants from more than 200 species—including orchids and native Southeast Asian varieties—will surround the complex. A four-hectare coastal park will connect Therme Singapore to Marina Barrage, adding a public waterfront stretch to the area.
Tech-Enabled and Eco-Conscious
Therme Singapore will rely on RFID wristbands as locker keys and payment tools, while robotic locker systems handle storage logistics. Water quality will be managed through advanced ozone filtration technology. Sustainability has been embedded from the start: the design incorporates energy-efficient systems, solar panels, smart irrigation, and climate-responsive landscaping.
Broader Impact and Next Steps
As Singapore pushes to become a global hub for wellness tourism—and as urban populations increasingly seek accessible escapes from dense city life—Therme Singapore could set a new benchmark for integrated wellbeing destinations. The project aligns with the government’s broader plans to develop Marina South as a vibrant waterfront district.
Construction is expected to begin within the next few years, with additional details on programming, dining partners, and pricing to be announced closer to the 2030 opening. For now, interested visitors can follow updates at thermesingapore.com.
