This October, as Singapore’s Formula 1 fever reaches its peak, Suntec City is entering the race with a unique attraction that blends the thrill of motorsport with the creative world of LEGO. Taking over the mall’s Atrium from October 1 to 18, the “Experience the Thrill” campaign offers a hands-on, family-friendly look at the high-speed world of F1 racing, featuring life-sized brick builds, interactive skill challenges, and on-site shopping rewards.
The Main Event: A Life-Sized LEGO Marvel
The undisputed star of the show is the life-sized VCARB F1 LEGO Big Build. Constructed from over 400,000 individual bricks, this full-scale replica has already graced an actual F1 circuit, having appeared alongside the Visa Cash App RB team drivers during the Miami Grand Prix Drivers’ Parade. Visitors are invited to get up close and capture a race-week-worthy photo alongside the massive car, making it feel as if they have just stepped into the pit crew.
A Community Built Mosaic
Beyond the main build, a striking 3-metre by 2-metre LEGO mosaic wall showcases miniature versions of the McLaren F1 Team MCL38, BWT Alpine F1 Team A524, and Audi Revolut F1 Team R26 race cars. This artwork isn’t just for looking at—it was created in collaboration with the Adult LEGO Fans (ALFs) community, and members of the public are given a chance to add their own contributions to the wall. Additional smaller LEGO F1 installations are also located near the Esplanade MRT entrance and the walkway outside BYD by 1826.
Putting Your Skills to the Test
The core interactive experience revolves around the LEGO F1 Race Pass. Visitors can take on four distinct zones designed to mirror the essential skills of a professional driver: speed, precision, reaction, and focus. The challenges break down as follows:
- The Gear-Up Zone: A 30-second engineering trial where participants must memorize and assemble an F1 steering wheel.
- The Sprint Zone: A high-stakes game of reflexes set against a sequence of red lights, where the goal is to hit the button at the perfect moment within a 10-second window. Top scorers stand a chance to win LEGO F1 sets.
- The Speed Zone: A chance to navigate an F1-inspired track, testing steering precision and concentration.
- The Victory Zone: A photo moment with a LEGO F1 Racer Minifigure, designed for sharing on social media to secure a final e-stamp on the race pass.
Completing three of the four challenges unlocks exclusive rewards while stocks last: little racers aged four to 12 can take home a LEGO Steering Wheel, while those aged 13 and up receive a LEGO voucher.
Pit Stops and Shopping Rewards
The action extends beyond the track. A pop-up store from the LEGO Certified Store (Bricks World) sits right next to the activation, offering an extensive selection of F1-themed LEGO race cars and merchandise from 10:30am to 9:30pm daily.
Suntec City is also making it worth the trip to stick around. Throughout the campaign period, Suntec+ members can unlock parking and dining rewards with same-day transactions. Minimum spends of $20 unlock free parking after 5pm on weekdays, while higher spends earn e-vouchers for retailers and up to $45 in F&B e-vouchers at participating eateries like Coucou Hot Pot, Kiwami Gyoza, and LONGJING. Fans who already hold tickets to the Grand Prix can flash their race passes for exclusive October-long deals at participating stores.
Whether you’re a die-hard F1 loyalist, a dedicated LEGO collector, or just looking for a creative family outing, Suntec City’s activation brings the energy of the track to the heart of the city. The “Experience the Thrill” campaign runs through October 18. For full details and terms, head to the official Suntec City website to plan your visit.
