Just For Laughs Singapore Returns with Trevor Noah and an Expanded Comedy Lineup

The acclaimed comedy festival returns for a second year with eight shows across four venues, headlined by Emmy Award-winning host Trevor Noah, running October through December.

Just For Laughs Singapore is back, and this year’s programming is significantly larger than its debut edition. Running from October 6 through December 1, the festival brings a curated roster of international comedians to stages at Capitol Theatre, The Star Theatre, Esplanade Theatre, and The Theatre at Mediacorp. Headliner Trevor Noah will perform at The Star Theatre on November 3, marking his return to Singapore as part of his Off the Record tour, which sold out globally.

Noah is arguably the festival’s biggest draw. The South African comedian rose to international fame as the host of The Daily Show, a role that earned him multiple Emmy Awards. He has hosted the Grammy Awards six times, authored the bestselling memoir Born a Crime, and built a reputation as one of the most incisive political comedians working today. His Singapore show is expected to blend observational humor with sharp commentary on current events.

A Global Roster of Comic Talent

The festival kicks off on October 6 with Jiaoying Summers at Capitol Theatre. Born in China and now based in Austin, Texas, Summers has amassed more than two billion views and five million followers online. Her comedy unapologetically tackles immigrant identity, cultural clashes, and motherhood. She made history as the first Chinese comedian to headline the legendary Apollo Theater in New York.

On November 25, Atsuko Okatsuka brings The Big Bowl Tour to The Star Theatre. Okatsuka’s second comedy special, Father, debuted in Hulu’s top ten, while her first, The Intruder on HBO, won a Gracie Award and was named one of the best specials by both Vulture and Variety. Known for blending personal storytelling with absurdist humor and a sharp sense of fashion, she sold out more than 200 shows across over 100 cities during her 2024–2025 Full Grown tour.

Can’t-Miss Gala and Supporting Acts

For a concentrated dose of comedy, the All Star Gala on November 15 at Esplanade Theatre brings together six performers: host Fadzri Rashid, Sashi Perera, Azeem Banatwalla, Daniel Fernandes, Alex Calleja, and Garron Chiu. It’s the largest gathering of comedic talent in a single night.

Other featured acts include Irish comedian Dara Ó Briain (November 20, Capitol Theatre), whose last tour sold out 173 venues across 20 countries; Australian deadpan comic Aaron Chen (October 19, Capitol Theatre), known for his Netflix special Funny Garden; Morgan Jay (November 13–14, Esplanade Theatre), a regular on MTV’s Wild ’N Out and Comedy Central; and digital duo Dan & Phil, who close the festival on December 1 at The Theatre at Mediacorp with their Hard Launch World Tour.
