Osteria Mozza Finds New Home at Ion Orchard as Chi Spacca Set for Hilton Site

Nancy Silverton’s Cal-Italian restaurant Osteria Mozza has moved to Ion Orchard, trading its previous Hilton Singapore Orchard address for a brighter, wood-toned space on the mall’s third floor. The 106-seat outpost—the brand’s only Asian location—opened alongside a wave of luxury boutiques, but the chef says the design keeps things warm and approachable rather than stuffy. Meanwhile, the vacated Hilton unit will welcome Chi Spacca, Silverton’s meat-centric Los Angeles concept, for a one-year run starting in late 2026.

A New Chapter at Ion Orchard

Silverton first brought Osteria Mozza to Singapore in 2010, debuting as Pizzeria Mozza at Marina Bay Sands before settling at Hilton Orchard and now Ion Orchard. The new space at 2 Orchard Turn (#03-14B/15B) reflects a departure from the darker, more rustic look of its predecessor: exposed timber, dark wood, and leather create a brighter, more polished atmosphere that still feels inviting.

The move also comes with menu changes driven by mall safety rules. Wood-fired pizzas—a longtime Mozza signature—had to go, replaced by pizza alla pala, Roman-style pies served on long paddles. While it’s a loss for fans of the original charred crust, the seven new options ($23–$32) bring their own appeal: crisp, thin bases perfect for sharing. Standouts include the aglio e olio with mozzarella, fontina, plump prawns, and parsley, as well as a BLT remake with onion cream, bacon, tomatoes, arugula, and garlic aioli. Other favorites include fennel sausage and salame with hot honey.

Lunch Additions and Pasta Highlights

For daytime diners, the newly introduced piadina sandwiches ($24–$38) are available before 5pm. Stuffed flatbreads come with fillings like deli meats (Nancy’s Chopped), tuna, or Westholme skirt steak. The chicken parmigiana alla vodka arrives a touch dry, but the accompanying shoestring fries or salad help round things out.

The antipasti selection spans five mozzarella-based plates, salads, and eight mains, but pasta remains the heart of the menu. The mafaldine ragù ($26) is a safe, comforting choice—balanced and hearty. For something bolder, the squid ink pasta offers casarecce and cuttlefish in a thick black sauce, though it leans salty and could use more red wine butter. Still, it’s hard to resist.

Sweet Endings and Practical Details

Desserts lean indulgent. A classic Madagascan vanilla soft serve comes with six toppings, from sautéed strawberries and almond crumble to brown butter, poached dates, and salted pecans. The signature B.T.S. sundae ($16) layers brown butter, buttered breadcrumbs, and black truffle ice cream—a sweet-savory combo that keeps regulars coming back.

Open daily from 11:30am to 10pm, Osteria Mozza brings Silverton’s polished yet unpretentious cooking to a new generation of diners. With Chi Spacca slated to take over the Hilton space, Silverton is doubling down on Singapore’s appetite for her distinctive takes on Italian classics—and proving that even a mall setting can feel like a destination.
