The Orchard Road entertainment venue that Live Nation first teased earlier this year finally has an identity. Slated to open in mid-2027, the 3,000-capacity space will be called Grange House, and its creators aim to fill a notable void in Singapore’s live music ecosystem—rooms that are neither too cramped for international acts nor too cavernous for an intimate night out.
Situated on Grange Road steps from Somerset MRT, the venue was originally announced under Singapore’s Budget 2026 as part of a broader push to revitalise the Orchard precinct. For years, touring artists have faced a binary choice: headline a club or arena. Grange House positions itself as the missing middle ground—big enough to host mid-tier global touring acts, yet small enough to preserve a sense of closeness between performer and audience.
One of the venue’s defining features is its openness. Unlike many Live Nation-operated spaces that exclusively book the promoter’s own acts, Grange House will be available to all event organizers and independent promoters. That decision broadens the programming potential, creating room for local indie shows alongside major international tours. The result, according to the company, is a more diverse calendar that could serve both the pop mainstream and the grassroots scene.
Design work falls to Live Nation’s in-house Blueprint Studio, which has prioritised acoustics, unobstructed sightlines, and artist backstage facilities built to international touring standards. The venue also integrates indoor and outdoor spaces intended for non-show hours: a landscaped terrace, an all-day café and restaurant that can host community talks and public events, and a foyer designed for pre- and post-show dining and gathering.
Access has also been considered. A dedicated walkway will connect Grange House directly to 313@Somerset, allowing shoppers to glide from retail therapy into a gig. That walkway itself will be activated with rotating art installations, exhibitions, and pop-up concepts, adding a cultural layer to the link between mall and music.
Grange House is not an isolated project. It forms part of the larger Orchard Road rejuvenation strategy, which includes the planned redevelopment of 37 Emerald Hill—the former Singapore Chinese Girls’ School site—into a mixed-use lifestyle hub. The district has been undergoing a deliberate shift from pure retail to experience-driven destinations, and a dedicated mid-sized music venue aligns with that vision.
For fans eager to track progress, updates will be posted on Instagram at @grangehousesg and on the official website grangehouse.sg. With mid-2027 still a couple of years out, the venue’s programming team has time to craft a lineup that could redefine how international and local acts co-exist on the same stage—and how Orchard Road sounds after dark.
